JAN LULEY
piano & vocals
Jan Luley is a musical cross-border artist: a pianist, singer, composer, and creative storyteller who brings the groove and soul of New Orleans into the present. His concerts are sonorous journeys through jazz, blues, Creole rhythms, and his own compositions—always with a touch of the South, full of emotion and virtuosity.
Studied in Arnhem, Netherlands, and inspired and shaped in New Orleans—where he has been closely involved with the music scene for over three decades—he has developed a style that respects tradition while simultaneously breaking new ground: 'Contemporary New Orleans Style Piano.' He combines joyful playing with musical depth, feather-light elegance with funky energy.

Jan has performed over 2,800 concerts in 18 countries, shared stages with greats such as Lillian Boutté, Gene "Mighty Flea" Conners, and Angela Brown, and has appeared on 21 albums. In 1995, he received an award for "Outstanding Musicianship" from the Berklee College of Music. In 2011, the city of New Orleans honored him for his commitment to preserving its musical tradition.
In addition to his music, Jan is also active as a photographer, designer, and workshop instructor. Together with his wife, he organizes inspiring cultural tours to New Orleans and the Baltic States—always with a focus on encounters, music, and authentic experiences.

Hot shots in New Orleans 2026
From March 25th to April 2rd, 2026, I will be leading a tour group to New Orleans again. Unique photo opportunities and lots of music in small clubs, Creole food, southern plantations and swamps with alligators - New Orleans has an incredible amount to offer. We will learn a lot about architecture, slave history, the beginnings of jazz and, as always, we will just take incredibly good photos and have a lot of fun in the Big Easy.
The pre-registration list is already full, further registrations for the waiting list are still possible. Find out more and register here .
