New Orleans – a city of contrasts, music, and culture. Join us on an unforgettable tour of the Big Easy , grab your cameras, and experience jazz, Mardi Gras, and alligators up close.
Travel with us to the Crescent City , and we'll show you more photo opportunities than you'll have room for on your memory cards. We'll take you on a trip to see alligators in the bayous , a tour of an old Southern plantation, or a riverboat shuffle on the "Natchez." But you'll also experience the dark side of this city full of contrasts: poverty, gentrification, and the continuing impact of Hurricane Katrina on this unique city. A mecca for all photographers and music lovers—whether traditional jazz, funk, rock, gospel, or blues.

I usually receive information about the flight schedule and current travel prices in late summer of the previous year. Only when you have this information do you need to book your trip.
Don't imagine our trip as a "typically German" group tour, but more as a trip with friends. No meticulously planned daily schedules and group-dynamic hand-holding, but rather activities and recommendations that you can enjoy partly as a group, but also alone if you wish. New Orleans offers so many possibilities. I would be delighted to introduce you to this fascinating city.

The registration deadline is usually November 30th of the previous year - or earlier if the course is fully booked.

Scheduled flight with BRITISH AIRWAYS in Economy Class from Frankfurt via London to New Orleans and back
1 piece of luggage up to 23 kg plus hand luggage
8 nights in an upper-middle-range hotel (presumably the Hotel Mazarin (3.5*) at 730 Bienville St, New Orleans, LA 70130). All rooms with private bath/shower and toilet.
Complete organization of the group as well as on-site travel guidance by Jan Luley with current insider tips
Excursion by bus/boat into the swamps of Louisiana under the guidance of an experienced ranger
Bus excursion to an old Southern plantation with a local guide
City tour through the French Quarter with historical and architectural highlights (possibly also a tour of the Garden District/La Fayette Cemetery)

Concert at Preservation Hall
