Monique B. Thomas

Jazz, Soul, Gospel, Pop

Monique Thomas, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is a unique singer whose specialty is her fluency in many different musical styles. From jazz to soul, from gospel to pop, Monique is able to switch between genres in a flash, creating something new while still maintaining her own artistic signature.

Monique began singing at the age of 2 and was always involved in musical activities such as choirs and marching bands and was even a pianist in her high school's jazz band.

In 1998, she graduated with a degree in jazz singing from the USA and earned a diploma in opera singing from France in 2005. Even during her jazz studies, she gained international experience through regular performances in clubs in and around New York. Today, she is just as at home in gospel as she is in jazz, where Billie Holiday, Betty Carter, and Dinah Washington are among her role models. Her concerts and work as a vocal teacher have taken her to France (where she currently lives), Russia, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Croatia, Thailand, Germany, Belarus, Switzerland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, and Martinique, among other countries.
